Brown Sugar Glaze Ham Steak

Ham steaks make a delicious, quick weeknight meal. Dice up leftovers and add to fried rice or a breakfast bake.

Ingredients
- (1) Ham Steak, Uncured, Smoked
- (1/2 tablespoon or use an oil of your choice) Pork Lard
- (2 tablespoons) Butter
- (2 tablespoons to 1/3 cup depending on taste) Brown Sugar
Directions
1 - Heat the lard (or oil) in your pan on medium/high heat.
2 - Add the ham steak and sear for approximately 4 minutes on each side.
3 - Cook to an internal temperature of 145 degrees. These can dry our quickly so be sure to watch your temperature.
4 - Remove the ham steaks and place on a plate.
5 - Lower your heat to medium/low.
6 - Add the butter to the pan. Once melted add the brown sugar and stir until dissolved.
7 - Add the ham steak back to the pan and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side.
